The first grade students will have homework nightly.  Their homework will consist of the following:

• Side B for Saxon Phonics and Spelling
  
• Side B for Saxon Mathematics
• Practice both spelling lists (Literacy Place and Saxon Phonics)
• Practice coding and reading words from Saxon Phonics and Spelling (either from the website or from the list).
• Independent reading.  Your student should practice his/her new reading skills by reading the take home practice books or any other reading material at his/her reading level.
• Practice their math facts.  The students should try to memorize the facts so that they can recall them quickly (without having to count on their fingers).
